Let’s keep this post short and to the point. The Azzurri have lost 2 important players for the next 6 months and could be unavailable for the upcoming EURO 2012 tournament. I can say that although these two replacements are not exactly the same players, they fit the bill more than anyone else at Italy’s disposal. The names, Sebastian Giovinco (proven fantasista/trequartista) has shown his capabilities at Parma this season. He would be a great option to fill Cassano’s spot. The other is none other then Serie A’s 2 time reigning Capo Cannoniere (top Scorer) Toto` DiNatale. By no means is he inferior to Giuseppe Rossi, infact, numbers show that he is more prolific than anyone in Italy. Just ask Udinese… He has scored 67 times in the last 84 serie A matches. Not to take anything away from Giuseppe Rossi. He is actually one of my favourite players in the world right now, but even he will say that DiNatale’s experience and ability is still amazing. Rossi will be there one day as well, but he has to recover from this set-back first.

Something for Prandelli to ponder over the next while. Whatever choices he makes, we can be certain that Coach Prandelli knows more then we all do.

I find myself playing the odd pro-line ticket from time to time and cannot help but notice 2 things. I seem to always lose my ticket by one game, and every time I bet on my favourite team I tend to pick the opposite result. When I am at the local corner store writing my ticket, I know that when I get to my favourite team, my obvious bias opinion will cloud my judgement and force me into an emotional bet instead of a smart bet. When I have no emotional attachment, my predictions are very educated guesses and tend to be correct on a more frequent basis.

I am writing this to announce that I will post my “EXPERT” analysis of the rest of the season on a week by week basis. Take my advice or leave it, I’m only here to show you that my picks are golden. I don’t want to be the only guy that thinks this, so I will post them for you the readers.

You don’t have to bet money, after-all , I dont want to be responsable for your losses. This is only my opinion. Feel free to bash my picks, but I hope you will also acknoledge when I pick the winners !

CASSANO A NO GO

In the world of soccer, players, coaches, and team presidents make declarations that cannot always be taken too seriously. We hear players say things such as, ” I will never leave this club ” only to leave the team the same week. Lets hope this is not the case when it comes to Lippi’s declaration on Cassano.

NO MORE SERIE B ?

Apparently, the Italian Soccer Federation is toying with the idea of changing the name of the SERIE B to SERIE A2. This has already happened to the Futsal League in Italy many years ago. How will this change everything ? It won’t. Don’t they have any bigger fish to fry ? How about sorting out that small problem with stadium violence ? Or constant rumours of clubs going into bankrupsy. Who knows what they are thinking but I do think A2 sounds much nicer than Serie B.

I hope you all had a chance to see the game between Italy and Holland on Saturday Nov. 14. 2009 . It ended in a 0-0 draw. If you didn’t watch it, you missed seeing Italy’s version of the Tasmanian Devil. Giuseppe Rossi has shown that he is up for the challenge everytime he puts on an Azzurri shirt. He literally put fear into Hollands back four every single time he touched the ball.
I can’t wait to see more and more from him ! This guy plays like he’s desparate to score everytime hes on the field. His hunger to score is what we need !!!

AC MILAN – GROWING WITH CONFIDENCE

They have started the year off very poorly, but have rebounded with their wonderful performances in the Champions League. A win at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid sparked them in the Serie A bringing them positive results in the last 3 weeks. They once again took it to Real Madrid last night in the Champions League.

For some reason Milan keep on producing in the Champion League despite the slow start in the Seria A.

Some people think its the Champions League Anthem before the match that gets them going.

Milan President Galliani has decided to play that song before Serie A games as the players get ready in the dressing room.

It looks like its working !!!

There will be a new soccer academy that will surely make the difference in young players who are looking to take their game to the next level. Details cannot be disclosed at this time, but stay tuned for news on the new website for the EUROSTAR SOCCER ACADEMY !!!

For years the Greater Toronto Area has had great programs to help young players develop, and help them break into the Provincial and National programs, not to mention NCAA scholarships. It’s about time that someone in the Niagara Region takes that step. So much talent from Niagara has been overlooked in the recent years, its time to put Niagara Region players on the map !
